$16 thousand per day thanks to “white hat” SEO?

Imagine appearing at the top of search engines…wouldn’t life be beautiful…could it REALLY happen to me?

A guy I know (we’ve corresponded for years) just emailed me and claimed to be making $16 THOUSAND in sales daily thanks to a new “white hat” search engine technique he’s been using for quite some time now.

**What is white hat?*** “White hat” techniques are those search engine techniques ALLOWED by the search engines while “black hat” techniques get your website ranked temporarily and then pulled out of the search engines once you are caught.

The fact is you don’t have to be very bright to do well on the Internet if you have a website that appears at the top of any major search engine for a top keyword using “white hat” search engine optimization (SEO).

The problem is that it’s VERY hard to learn the “game” of getting top rankings for good keyword searches. I’ve always said that SEO is a game best left for computer geeks and poeple with too much time on their hands. The rules of SEO will all change tomorrow anyway right?

That’s how I used to think too… And then I heard from an old friend that was pulling in $16 THOUSAND everyday thanks to white hat SEO. In the five years of writing this newsletter I’ve talked about SEO only on rare occasion and I’ve NEVER relied on SEO to grow my business.

To this day NONE of my sites rank very well for any major search terms (and I’m still doing quite well, thank you). BUT… Wouldn’t it be nice to see YOUR website appearing in the top results of GOOGLE or YAHOO in the “natural” search results?

I haven’t seen the new course yet but I’ll be BUYING a copy as soon as it comes out. If you want to learn SEO from guys that know the system and can prove it check out the free videos they put together showing you how it all works: http://www.convertlinks.com/vid1.php?whitehatadvantage

Homemade videos selling on eBay

My buddy Terrance is always finding GREAT examples of homemade info products that are selling like crazy on eBay. I find these very inspirational. Check out these auctions:

skydiving jumps
fox hunting
Homemade Soaps

Since these auctions will expire soon I made up a video showing many more examples of homemade movies selling on eBay Click Here

ALL of these examples make great niche markets. You can grow a mailing list, create eBooks, create membership websites etc.

UPDATE: here’s an artist selling “how to oil paint” dvd’s that he filmed himself. Click here. This guy could be growing a KILLER mailing list and creating all kinds of back end income with a few simple concepts from PartTimePlan.com!

Inspirational success…

One of the greatest pleasures I get out of teaching others about online auctions (eBay) and Internet income strategies is to hear success stories.

I think all entrepreneurs are motivated and inspired by the success of others, but it is especially rewarding when the person succeeding gives you full or partial credit for their success. That’s why I always encourage everyone that succeeds online to consider teaching others to do it too! Not only is it profitable to do so, but it is VERY rewarding.

For example last week I had a great conversation with a great guy named Rob. Rob is one of the MOST successful eBay sellers in the game right now. He’s handling more transactions per week than any other eBay seller (think tens of thousands) and he credits my ideas for helping him get there. He runs a small business (it’s truly not a huge operation -it’s just his wife and a couple of friends running the whole show!) and he’s doing VERY well!

He’s starting to implement many of the “multiple streams” concepts to protect his future online income. Smart move.

His success story reminds me of the story behind the 4 minute mile run. For years it was assumed incorrectly that a 4 minute mile run was IMPOSSIBLE.  Then on May 6th, 1954 Roger Banister ran the first ever sub-four-minute mile in recorded history. He cut it REAL close coming in at 3 minutes 59.4 seconds. After years of everyone assuming it couldn’t be done it happened…and then guess what happened about six weeks later? A different guy did the same thing setting a new sub-four minute record.

What does this have to do with eBay?

I think most people assume that in order to have a massively successful eBay business you have to have a huge operation with a bunch of employees and hassles. This isn’t true and as you meet great guys like Rob you’ll see that it really can be done…and this will inspire many to follow in the same path.

You can do this - eBay truly is the greatest opportunity of our lifetimes. I believe that 100%.

Don’t think that you have to have a full-time operation to pull this off though. Many VERY successful Internet/eBay entrepreneurs are putting in just a few hours per week and making a killing. I teach both full-time and part-time strategies (i.e. check out PartTimePlan.com).

The only missing ingredient is taking action - what have you done to move your business forward lately?

(P.S. I’ll be telling you more about the “top eBay seller” that I’ve been talking to…he’s got some great ideas that he’s agreeing to share with us!)

Has Google slapped you yet?

Have you heard about “The GOOGLE Slap” heard ’round the Internet?

It’s official. Google.com is now the new champion of “biting the hand that feeds you”.

I never thought I’d see the day when a company would change the rules FASTER than eBay does, but GOOGLE has done it - and they seem to be getting away with it for now. Only history will tell if the move was brilliant or insane. (Hint: Watch the GOOGLE (GOOG) stock price from now until Feb 07).

So, what exactly is the Google Slap?

To understand the Slap you need to know about the Pay Per Click advertising program that Google offers called Adwords.

Many Adwords users are seeing clicks that used to cost $.10 or $.50 magically jump up over night and suddenly cost $5, $10 or more because Google doesn’t like the website they are advertising.

SLAP SLAP SLAP - OUCH

Imagine going shopping for groceries and on your way to the checkout counter all the items in your cart jump up 500% or more in price. Would you like that store anymore? Now you understand the “slap”.

The SLAP means that Google DOESN’T want your advertising money unless they REALLY like the website you are advertising. Thousands of adwords users are being effectively “shut down” as they are subjected to a maze of impossible rules, standards, and price points that are being applied to their advertising account.

Do a search on any search engine (even Google) to find out more about the Google Slap.

Needless to say advertisers are dropping like flies as a result and Google isn’t flinching.

Strangely it’s only the “small” Adwords accounts that are subjected to the new “standards”. Accounts that are spending several thousand dollars per month need not worry from what I’ve been hearing. Advertising accounts like eBay, Chase Bank, Walmart etc need not panic - Google wants your money…

Who else need not worry?

Google loves CONTENT sites so if your site is full of continually updated fresh original content (who has time to do that for a living) and isn’t selling anything you are okay.

Question for Google: Who advertises a site that doesn’t sell anything?

Google is getting picky about who can and can’t use the Pay Per Click program. In a nutshell if your website is an effective “selling” site (i.e. one page sales letter, squeeze page etc.) you are a potential target to get slapped. Google no longer wants one page sales letters or squeeze pages.

I’m making a video now about the power of squeeze pages so don’t panic if you don’t know what I’m talking about there. Watch the blog for more details on using them.

IS THE SKY FALLING?

No - far from it, but the lesson is that NOW is the time to make sure that your “multiple streams strategy” is in full force. The people who have an entire business running based on Google Pay Per Click traffic are freaking out right now.

Don’t rely on Google Pay Per Click traffic alone to get you traffic. See my recent blog post about how to get traffic for ideas.

And don’t forget eBay… remeber good ol’ eBay?

The most popular non-search engine website on the planet? Now there’s a traffic source for you!

A “multiple streams” strategy continues to be an amazing and simple way to make your Internet biz prosper and avoid over reliance on a third party website to support you. Check out “Silent Sales Machine” to start using that strategy today.

CAUTION: Reliance on any one website for your income will eventually lead to a SLAP. Constantly ask yourself this question: “If website XYZ dissapeared tomorrow what would my business look like?” I’d like to help you answer that question with confidence!

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. “Now,” said the professor as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things–your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions–and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else–the small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

“Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first–the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Thanks to Deb Moralez for sending this to me. I don’t typically read these kinds of emails that I get, but this one is too perfect not to share!

Is your eBay /Internet business a pebble or sand? For your sake I hope it’s NOT a golf ball!

God Bless!
