I am an independently owned and operated service provider subcontracted by eXponent Trading to duplicate all the CD/DVD media used to train members and promote the business. If I felt or knew they were not “on the level” with their business practices, I would not have performed work for them. eXponent Trading is a legitmate business opportunity and everything has been disclosed above board.

If eBay or Craig’s List had any reservations about eXponent Trading, their concerns would already be apparent and a public statement would have been issued.

Why does Exponent’s business plan directly conflict with the terms of service expressly written for sites/services that it plans to use (PayPal, Craigslist, etc)?

[[reply from Admin]]: Great question. Paypal does not allow their service to be used to make payments for any MLM or network marketing company, so PayPal will not be used in that way by Exponent. PayPal will be used to conduct normal business on eBay by exponent members, but no commission payouts or membership dues will be paid via PayPal. The entire business plan has been gone over by PayPal and eBay Trust and Safety reps and found to be without violation of PayPal or eBay TOS.

What a stir about Exponent…they just launched a few days ago. I’m giving it a little time to see what they can do with the launcher tool…other than that I think it’s a great idea.

They don’t sell a product, and the whole idea is to build a downline, not teach others.

Terry Gibbs should take another look at the Exponent compensation plan before he starts quoting numbers. There is a 10% commission on the FOURTH level, not the seventh. This is a very generous plan. He also forgets to mention that each Agent gets their own website and bookkeeping for their $20.00/mo fee. Even if they don’t sell anything themselves during a month the bookkeeping and website are still functioning for them and keeping track of sales of their own sales team. Try keeping track of all that yourself without spending an extra minute of your valuable time, or by hiring a bookkeeper for $20.00 a month.

The nay-sayers of Exponent Trading are trying to infer a hidden MLM. On the contrary, Exponent Trading is promoting the COMBINATION of the POWER of MLM and eBay/Craigslist. It is hard to imagine any successful company that does NOT have some sort of hierarchy as it’s structure. The president of Chrysler, for example, doesn’t sell each car. His salary is created by the work of a very complex sales team from vice presidents, through managers and right down to the salesman on the floor (who now has an income because he is a “member” of the sales force). A diagram of the hierarchy of a large successful corporation would look surprisingly similar to that of an MLM.
