You need to have an eBiz

Having your own e-Biz is possibly the ONLY option to secure your financial future as an entrepreneur. I challenge you to show me a business idea with stronger potential! All indications are that online shopping is going to continue to break new records. The price of doing business “in the real world” is getting too expensive for companies and consumers in comparison.

Consider this…

I was listening to an interview yesterday and an employment expert was quoting a recent survey by the well known U.S. based recruiting company “Manpower”.  According to the survey the number one MOST DIFFICULT position for modern companies to fill in the U.S. and in many other countries around the world is “SALES” jobs. This includes retail sales positions.

They are predicting massive shortages in the millions of positions left unfilled in the next few years. As baby boomers start to retire it gets even worse. This means sales salaries are going WAY UP because of the law of supply and demand.

****Continued from Newsletter******

I think this clearly means that “brick and mortar” retail prices will be going HIGHER to help pay for salaries and there will be an even greater consumer shift to the relative “bargains” to be found via Internet shopping.

FACT: Most small companies aren’t ready for this shift.

The fact that this topic even interests you means that you are in a great position to take advantage of this trend by helping get products to the “Internet” marketplace (i.e. eBay, Yahoo stores etc.). You could even be paid quite well to help traditional businesses get online!

Soaking up the basic and more advanced Internet marketing strategies that I try to convey in this newsletter and in the books I recommend to you is going to pay off very well as the world continues to shift toward Internet dependence.

I am a member of worldwide brands and on a 10 scale, I give ONESOURCE a 3. It’s a cumbersome site, hard to navigate, and full of MIDDLE MEN who are so called companies. I found a couple of good Middle Men companies that I delt with in the past. The ones that are real wholesalers either don’t get back with you or the fees are high, etc.
A very frustrating interface. You are better off getting the info from the product and calling the manufacturer for wholesalers, phone numbers, etc.
    There’s my two cents worth….

[[reply from Jim]]: I’m sorry you found it cumbersome! I’ve had a membership for several years and I think they are doing an amazing job…especially when you compare them to ANY other resource out there. I’ll grant you that doing your own research is a good option though…not everyone has the time or the skills to do it! I appreciate the feedback though.

  2. Jim, your facts about the growth potential of online shopping square with my own research, available at http://www.SavvyOnlineShopper.com/facts.html. As the author of a book about how to shop online, I can also suggest that ANOTHER way to help businesses who want to get online would be to help them get their internet security measures into place. 68% of Americans are afraid their credit card info will be stolen if they shop onlin – even though customer satisfaction with online shopping is higher than with brick-and-mortar shopping.

So anyone who can help website owners reassure their customers about SAFETY and SECURITY should also do well

    Thanks, great newsletter as usual!

  3. Hello Jim,

I agree 100% with your article. Internet Marketing can only increase, and as the “security” fears subside we will see major increases in marketing needs. From the products to sell, the infrastructure to sell them in as well as the people to keep the “machine” maintained.

The world is getting smaller, thanks to the Internet. In 1984 it cost me around 10k to start my “offline” information business. I had to open in a major city with a population of 500k or more for my biz to work. Unfortunately all I could afford with that 10k was an office in the crappiest part of town…

I did rather well with those meager beginnings, but after losing everything in the divorce, I started a global business with less than $100 (one hundred dollars). “Global” sounds big, but all it was, was a store on Ebay.

Now I do as well as I did in the Brick & Mortar without the high cost or high risk.
Yes, Internet Marketing has come a long way, but it is still just a baby. I’m looking forward to seeing it grow up.

Hi Jim, found your blog through sources at engineseeker and thought I’d take a moment to comment. Agreed, people are moving steadily toward using the internet. Having my own travel site is fun, and still challenging since most people are not aware that deals and bargains can be had by going outside traditional sources (read websites) and visiting sites such as yours and mine. We’re definitely a presence, but gaining that foothold even with the traditional sites can be an uphill battle. Still I enjoy being online and making a living from it. Thanks for your post, I enjoyed my visit.
