Hi Jim. My name is Shawn and I am an avid reader (and big fan) of your newsletter. In many of your newsletters you mention Clickbank. Could you please explain what
Clickbank is.
Jim’s Answer:
=============
There are people earning $40 thousand per month using ClickBank and in some cases much much more. ClickBank.com (I’ll call them CB for the rest of this article) is a popular tool for those with electronic products like eBooks or software to sell. CB is the order processing service for over 10,000 electronic products. There are over 100,000 affiliates who are selling those products.
Who can be a CB affiliate? Anyone - it’s free.
Who can be an author or software publisher on CB? Anyone that has an original product to sell and $49 in their pocket for the sign up fee.
Here’s a simplified real life example:
My eBook ‘The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay’ is sold using the services of CB. In order to use CB I had to establish my website (SilentSalesMachine.com) and put a CB payment link on it - that’s it. Anyone who wants to buy my book clicks the CB payment button and is taken to the CB order-processing screen. I never see the credit card information of the ordering customer. The entire order-processing service is handled by CB.
If an ordering customer was sent to me via a referral (an affiliate) then the affiliate is credited a percentage of the sale. In my case I pay out 50% of every sale to the referring affiliate. Even if it’s been several months since the customer first visited my website the referring affiliate is credited with a sale when the customers buys.
As soon as a customer buys my book I get an email notifying me of the sale and so does the affiliate who referred the customer to me. The paying customer is directed to the ‘thank you’ page where they download the product they purchased. The customer also gets an email telling them what to do if they have any questions or problems.
The primary services CB provides for sellers are:
-Affiliate payment tracking and payout
-Processing of orders
-Payment via check every 2 weeks for all sales made minus fees
-Online tracking of sales made
The primary services CB provides for affiliates is this:
-Choice of thousands of eBook and other electronic products to promote
-Free sign up
-Automatic payment every 2 weeks of all commissions earned
-Online tracking of sales made
CB has been called the “lazy man’s order processing site” because of all of the services they provide in one package.
Worth noting: my book ‘The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay’ is the number one selling “eBay” related book on CB (it’s been a top seller for years through many revisions and updates).
Clickbank.com is one of my favorite online tools.

I think that was a very thorough explanation about Click Bank.

Keep up the number 1 news letter
If any one has never bought The Silent Sales Machine eBook, you
can make 10,20+++ times the money back if you read and follow the eBook.
Don’t buy it and let it collect dust on your hard drive

One of the advantages that ClickBank has over its competitors (like PayDotCom.com) is that payments to affiliates are handled automatically by CB. Some of these other sites burden the vendor with having to initiate affiliate payments.
Excellent way to explain Clickbanks. Your book Silent Sales Machine hiding on Ebay was outstanding.
I registered with CB and made some money. I waited for check to arrive but it never did.
I checked the “Report” on my CB account and there was the answer: “Why haven’t I received my check?
ClickBank will withhold the first check to be issued from your account until the payable balance contains sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers, including at least one Visa card, and one MasterCard in order to be eligible to receive a check. PayPal and e-check purchases do not count toward the minimum….”
So since most people (I think) nowadays use PayPal to pay for clickbank products , how much longer (now 4 months) should I wait before CB will send me my check???
I’m not the guru to keep the commissions till I fulfill their conditions!
CB product publishers will not tell you about this coz that will prevent you from advertising their products.
Good explanation on using CB and what are the benefits for anyone wanting to get started with little trouble, and having access to affiliates.
Thanks for the good report on using Clickbank, I understand they now offer a deposit direct to bank accounts.
I also have made a couple of sales from CB and found the whole system to be very easy from an affiliates point of view, However, like Borkan, I am now waiting to make sales through the ridiculous 5 different credit card numbers trap before I can collect any actual money.
Also, CB pays by cheque which has to clear in your bank account, taking at least another 4 to 7 days before you get any commissions.
Yes, Clickbank is a great idea and a good way to get a product sold, but for a newbie it can be a little discouraging due to its rules.
At least paydotcom pays monthly, straight into my Paypal account, without any restrictive and annoying “rules” like CB has.
It’s about time CB got out of the dark ages and started to use the same technology that earns it money to pay its affiliates.
