Super idea! I can't find archive in my email system yet but I can always make one and only one folder and call it archive.

Hey Jim,

You're right. I'm a folder junkie. I've probably got 35 different folders to sort my email into. And then I forget about it… Don't know where I put it when I want to find it later.

I do keep my "important" unread emails in the inbox. Also the "important" ones I've already read but might want to revisit some day.

The problem is that now there are like 1500 emails in there, a third of them unread! Seems like I never have the time to go back and read them all. Once a month or so I go through and spend hours reading, deleting, filing a bunch of them into the correct folder until I get tired of it.

But I never really get done with them.

I think I'll set up a brand new email address and try using your system right from the start.

AWESOME idea. I never really understood the "archive" button. Now my gmail looks SO much more manageable. Combine this with using Google Reader for the blogs I keep up with and I'm carving off a bunch of time.

Well … I'll have to give this a shot because I have tons of emails that I've kept in folders and which I have to go through regularly (frustratingly).
