You have $500 and 60 days to succeed online…now what?

I have the smartest audience online. The creativity, motivation, dedication and success that you are all characterized by is so exciting to see! Let’s show it off a bit shall we?

Let’s have a contest of ideas!

Here’s the challenge:

Assume you have $500 and 60 days to work with. You want to make the most of your time and money and get a nice income (or several income streams) going online. You don’t want to work more than a few hours per week now or after you set it all up. What do you do?

RULES: answer must be 250 words or less and must be left as a comment to this blog post (click the “comments” button below). No affiliate links allowed in answers. Feel free to submit more than one answer, but each one must be 250 words or less. Break a rule and your entry won’t be posted.

WHO WINS? : EVERYONE because there will be some great ideas posted and we’ll all learn from them! The two or three best answers with  brief, powerful, actionable plans that I like best will get a prize.

THE PRIZES:  A new autographed copy of my “Silent Sales Machine” on DVD quality audio. I don’t even have a “fancy” sales page set up for it yet, but if you don’t win you can get it here for $27 . You’ll also get a free 60 day membership to MySilentTeam.com (current members get a 60 day credit)

HINT and TIPS: Flattering the “host” always helps. Creativity is KING. Be Specific.  You don’t have to spend all $500 (this isn’t a government job), bribing the host not accepted unless it’s a REALLY good bribe.   ;o)

TIME LIMIT: I’ll give you one week from today. Monday the 29th I’ll pick a winner and announce it in my blog.

QUESTIONS: Please use the comments button below to post a question. I’ll answer questions right along with the ideas that are submitted.

Market research. Find one or more related items selling on eBay in your chosen niche that have:

-A lot of views per auction (hundreds at least/preferably 1’000+)

-Related products for promotion (e.g. Clickbank/Paydotcom)

Find source for items (garage-sales/local-ads/craigslist/wholesalers/drop-shippers etc.) Spend up to $500, buying stock.

Set up eBay account. Create About Me page. Describe your business, (without using sales-like language) place affiliate links or link to website with original quality content and affiliate products and an opt-in for your newsletter.

Create simple (yet professional) listings for items. Mention your newsletter in all auctions. Also put a video of the product on auction page. But place the actual video on your About Me page and link to it through an image of the video in the auction. (This ingenious idea was thought up by a fellow called Jim ;o)). List the items with a low starting price.

Take the money made from the auctions and buy more stock, buying items that had the most views (if you made a loss view it as a marketing expense). Repeat this process.

You get insane amount of targeted traffic directed to your newsletter and affiliate products. eBay traffic contains people looking to buy something, not just web-surfing.

You have established yourself in the chosen niche, made a decent bit of profit through affiliates and own a growing mailing list.

Finally join MySilentTeam.com, easily the best membership program on (and probably off) the internet and get ready to take your business to new creative heights.

Here’s what I would do if given 60 days & $500.00 to start a profitable business in four simple (not easy) yet effective steps.
Step 1- Go To Ed Dale’s 30 Day Challenge at http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/ and register for free access. The most recent 30 day challenge was held this past August but the free course is still available in its entirety right now. Follow the step by step video training for researching, and setting up your own online business. Some of the material is pretty simple to implement & the whole process might take you 2-3 hours if you sat down & did it all from beginning to end.
Step 2 – Most important step. Execute the plan. Don’t just watch the video training. Do It! Take Action.
Execute each step as the instructors present it. The training videos are clear and concise and explain the ins and outs of building a business online. If there is something in the training videos that you do not understand, you also get to access the 30DC forums. There you can communicate with a great group of like minded entrepreneurs who willing and openly discuss their errors and discoveries so that you can succeed.
Step 3 – Do exactly what they teach then repeat the process as many or as few times as you want to create your own profitable online business(es).
Step 4 – Be persistent and do not quit! Like Execution in step 2 this step is just as critical.
    Good luck!

    1. I would start with researching a need on the Warrior Forum.
    2. Take that need and build a product, probably an ebook.
    3. Go back to the Warrior Forum and ask for people’s feedback and honest testimonials.
    4. Adjust according to feedback and create sales page including the testimonials.
    5. Meanwhile, ask a few other marketers for bonuses to include with my product.
    6. Set up a freebie opt-in on a really good autoresponder. Know of one? :)
    7. Submit the product as a Warrior Special Offer (WSO). When people purchase, include a blurb on the download page that if they like the product to please leave a testimonial on the WSO. This gives the WSO even more social proof and momentum.
    7. Bump it when it gets to page 5-6, until it runs out of steam.
    8. Then offer it on ClickBank and drive traffic through the usual ways, including article marketing with longtail keywords and JV partners.
    9. Do it again.
    10. I’ve spent the initial $500 on graphics, and on getting someone to do my housework while I do IM, bribing my oldest to drive the youngest around, on take out meals, etc. ;-)

    Thanks,
    Peggy

I think a good copy would be to write bogs that people could use on their sites or for ebay, etc. Something with a successful record to get sales.
