For a couple years we’ve been paying workers overseas to handle things like web design, graphic design, SEO, blog comments, email support, twitter and facebook management, article writing, blog set up, article posting etc.

I learned these outsourcing skills from my friend John Jonas who is my go to expert on all things “outsourcing”. He personally earns tens of thousands of dollars every month from the efforts of his Philippines workers that LOVE their job and LOVE John! He recently even visited them and they had a great time together (he shows us pictures in the video!)

Virtually all of the “grunt work” being done by your online business SHOULD be done by someone else, the best place to find that “someone else” is the Philippines.  You can literally HAND THEM the business idea (an ebook, or training you’ve purchased) and tell them to “do it”.  You DON’T need skills. You need only GOOD IDEAS.

On the call John and I openly discussed and educate you on…

  • How to hire the best!  Paying less does not mean you have to sacrifice quality.  We will show you exactly what to do to find top performing employees for pennies on the dollar, how to hire them, and how to pay them.
  • How spending a little to outsource will actually generate more money because you won’t be tied up with menial work that someone else could do, while you could be pursuing new ventures.
  • The exact powerful tools that John uses to get his workers up to speed and working independently right away.  That way you really can ‘replace yourself’.
  • How to find and hire and train individuals to do almost anything you could imagine.
  • A little known process for hiring and rewarding employees can get you top-quality work, quick turnaround, regular communication, and tons of profit stress free.
  • You will have more free time than you ever dreamed possible with these techniques.
  • You can create self-sufficient employees so you can go golfing, skiing, fishing, shopping…you name it and your business keeps on ticking!

I remember the last time you and John got together and discussed all things outsourcing. What a great interview that was! I’m looking forward to hearing the updates on this program and putting it into practice myself.

    Jim,
I have been slow this week in checking my email. I just saw the email about the free training with John Jonas. I heard the last session you had with him and it was great information. I do hope you will be posting the recording. Last time it was a new concept to me. Now I’m much more interested in hearing it. Please Post. Thanks for all the great information you give us in your newsletter and in the membership area of My Silent Team. Donna Platt

[reply from Jim]: If the recording isn’t posted above yet it will be soon! Look for it on or soon after today.

    Hi Jim,

    This is serendipity.

I have just reached the stage of winning my first couple of projects and wanting fulfilment on auto pilot – and I spotted this on the OfflineBiz Gold Forum.

Looking forward to this very much – thank you.

    Hey Jim,

Thanks for this. I’m on the razor’s edge with outsourcing. That place where I’ve spent some money, figured out some processes, got a few small results but now not sure how to ramp it up. Continuing to invest seems iffy without a sure bet for a return on investment. It feels like I’m teetering between blowing it wide open or backing off completely.

    Doug

[reply from Jim]: the risks are SO low when done right. After watching the video I’m sure you saw some mistakes you made.

I think it is fortunate that you can find such low-cost help. I think it would be even more wonderful if you could dip into money you’re making and giving your people a little more than $240 a month–like maybe a year-end or Christmas bonus. Spread the wealth a little without harming the business which is supporting your workers as well as you. Half a million a year is luxury living even in the US; $240 a month is hardly luxury living, even in the Philippines. Surely you can do better than that by your people now that you have built of your business with their help. I find the disparity between the two sides almost obscene, and I’m surprised at the lack of sensitivity to it, and the willingness to gloss over it.

[reply from Jim]: You should be careful when judging other people’s generosity without all the facts. You are assuming that John doesn’t take care of his employees as well as you think he should, but I can tell you that you are lacking all the facts, and it really is none of our business anyway. You didn’t watch the entire presentation apparently because John does give a generous annual bonus, but that’s not all he gives. Generosity is something YOU do, not something you hold against others for not doing.

Thanks Jim and John for that webinar – I have a lot of business owners wanting my online for offline services and I’ve been frozen because I haven’t been able to have confidence in scaling this out. I haven’t been able to find the right outsourcing help at the right price to really take action and start marketing hard for big clients.

Jim thank you for being so selective on who you promote and really edifying that #1 IMReport card ranking

    Hi Jim,
Following up your reply to Steve (Sept 24th) I have to agree totally with you that people often “sound off” without knowing
all the facts. I would also like to tell Steve that my experience of the REALLY successful people in this on-line business of ours were a revelation to me when I first got started. So many of them are generous with their time, often giving away free stuff and sound advice.

Many of us have found, that when you go that “extra mile” for your customers, your staff and your suppliers, benefits seem to return to you tenfold! Like It’s a law of nature!

    Jim,

I liked what I heard when John talked about having an Affiliate review site built for him. Is there anyway we would
be able to take a look at this review site in action? If so can you send the url for review?

    Thanks,

    Tim

[reply from Jim]: I wouldn’t expect John to invite competition for himself by letting us know his niche. I wish I knew, but I certainly understand him not telling ANYONE where his top sites are…it’s just smarter not to.

    Jim,

I am a beginner at internet marketing. I’ve been serious (putting in about 10 plus hours per week) at learning and building squeeze pages, etc. now for about 5 weeks.

Outsourcing is something I have done one time before and it was for some graphic design work. The work was done through Elance and the simple project came out fine. It was for my churches small groups directory.

My current job is that of an Associate Pastor and with the economy the way it is I thought it would be prudent of me to start pressing into internet marketing now. I have wanted to do this for several years but never really put forth the effort.

This video is amazing. There is great opportunity for internet business…even more than I thought possible. As I reply to your blog post I am very encouraged.

Thank you very much! Any tips for a beginner that you can offer would be a blessing.

    Thank you,
    Eric Schmidt

[reply from Jim] : Being a beginner has its advantages! Some of the worst habits are formed when you get into “skill building” mode and think you have to do it all yourself. If you start out your journey realizing that you’ll NEVER know it all and instead surround yourself with qualified help and efficient tools then you’ll get where you are going much faster. If you find things moving slowly online it’s because you are doing too much of it yourself, or you are using the wrong tools and help.

  12. Eric Schmidt says

    September 24, 2010 at 9:25 pm

Thank you, Jim. One problem i’ve always had to deal with is paralysis of analysis. I tend to go the way that you described in your reply…thinking I have to learn and do everything before FIRING.

From the video on outsourcing it sounds like it would benefit me to hire someone to work on the traffic end of things and list building.

    Thank you again!
    Eric

loved the video guys, learned a lot. I tried several different times to download so as not to mistake a tech problem w/ a video cutoff spot. I only recieved 82 minutes of the 108 total. was this planned?
    great job and very interested
    thanks

[reply from Jim]: We did not intentionally leave off any of it. You should try rebooting and then redownload. If that doesn’t work watch the end of the video online. It should run very smoothly for you on a decent connection.

  14. Jeanine Wall says

    September 30, 2010 at 11:59 am

    Hi Jim,
The video is truly life changing. Implementing some outsourcing would really take the pressure off for people (like me) who feel that they have to do everything.

  15. Steve says

    September 30, 2010 at 12:37 pm

I don’t doubt that John is capable of generous gestures. What I note–and have a right to note, since you offer a recording and publish information–is the discrepancy between the two sides, which is excessive. And I repeat, you gloss over it.

[reply from Jim]: I’m open to your suggestions as to how we could not “gloss it over”. If pointing out the actual numbers for all to observe isn’t enough full disclosure I’m not sure how else to disclose. Hire whoever you’d like to hire for whatever rate they are willing to work for. That’s the definition of free and open markets. If you don’t like that you certainly don’t have to participate.

Hi Jim and thanks for giving me the possibility to watch your great webinar on Outsourcing to Philippines.

I’m used to outsource in that country, but let me confess your webinar deliver huge value in terms of ideas.
    $2.50/hour is an unbelievable value.

Thanks a lot and see you soon,

Wow! Great info. Thanks a ton guys! John really got into the specifics of outsourcing and I appreciate that. When I am ready to start outsourcing in my business I’ll be sure to consider this option first.

One last thing – OfflineBiz.com is a fantastic website with a ton of information and helpful people. I’m relatively new and have approached things conservatively and have already landed my first client. I’ve already made $1500, with another $1500 payment coming in the next 45 days. That’s $3000 on my first client and I’m absolutely stoked. They might not all be like this, but this is a great start! Well worth the monthly membership investment of about $20 a month.

    Thanks Jim and John.

    Have a great day!

PS – Comment to Steve – Step down from your pulpit and go troll somewhere else man. If you don’t like it don’t participate. John covered the 13th month and some basic living cost, etc. Plus, if you didn’t notice, I believe John even showed some of the salaries that workers are requesting. Besides judging other people, who’d you hire today? (Jim, feel free to delete this part if you want. That guy was just ticking me off.)

[reply from Jim]: Thanks for the feedback and support. Glad to hear you are off to such a great start on OfflineBiz!

    Hi Jim,

Really enjoyed your presentation at the Traffic Geyser event earlier this year. . .you’ve always got so many incredible ideas, concepts and methods for capitalizing on all things Internet.

Can hardly wait to watch the video and put myself in a position where I can take advantage of this opportunity.

Thanks for all you do with OfflineBiz.com Gold Forum.

    Joe

PS Maybe you can provide a link to the last interview you and John did? Thanks!

[reply from Jim]: The initial interview I did with John did not really contain any new info that this one didn’t also contain. The interview above was by far a more thorough interview (now that I’m one of John’s top affiliates!) ;0)

    Hey Jim!

Thanks so much for putting this interview with John together. It seems to have answered ALL my questions about outsourcing. I’m in the very beginning of my IM career and it started with the purchase of the Silent Sales Machine. I’ll be putting up my website very soon and will grow my biz quickly with the help and genuine caring of people like you and John Jonas. Thanks again. I truly appreciate you.

    Hello Jim,

I truly enjoyed your presentation and thought it was well done and effecive. I have tried serveral programs with no luck. I am at the point of my internet adventure that I do know where to turn and what to sell, much less what can you believe. I love the idea of outsourcing and seeking professional assistance. I haven’t made a dime and have spend a great deal of time building websites, writing copy, trying to drive traffic. Were do I turn now?

This a sincere question, I will be a success on the internet but I am spinning my wheels. If I could just make one sale to know that I can repeat the process I would be greatful.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Greg

This is great for older geeks like me. I don’t learn as fast as I used to – but the ideas come as fast as ever; plus it’s getting harder to make ‘it’ look and feel like what’s in so called mind. Too many good tools to use now and coming faster and faster…

All of us with ‘monkey brain’ syndrome can get more of our ideas up by stopping to try and do it all ourselves.

Hello Jim. This is not so much a comment but a question. I listened to the audio of you and John very intently and I have a question to how long it will take to see profits from the work an outsource worker does.

[reply from Jim]: The time between hiring and profiting is going to vary greatly depending on what you are using them for, their skill level, the complication of the process you are having them do etc. Hiring forces you to have a long term “employer” mentality and the question “how long until I profit?” is the wrong question. The real question is “How profitable is this likely to be and what are the risks?”. The risks are low and the sky is the limit.

    Hey Jim,

I’m in the process of hiring. I don’t have my product done yet but it’s close. I have seven minisites (ala Minisite Formula) and they are producing a few dollars each a month. If I’m going to get my outsource gal producing the equivalent of her salary quickly, where would you start? What should I have her implement?

    Thanks!

    Doug

[reply from Jim]: Any tasks that you do that are repetitive, or that are not in your skill set. Posting meaningful blog comments with links to your site, contacting blog and website owners in your niche requesting to place a guest article on their site, or requesting them to join your affiliate program, setting up more mini-sites, posting ads on classified sites, writing articles and submitting them to article directories etc. Hope that gives you some ideas on how to profitably keep her busy.

Wow this is great interview. The reason why outsourcing is a success in the Philippines is because filipinos are naturally friendly and fairly hospitable. The accommodating and accepting nature of Filipinos makes it easier to connect to potential clients. The Philippines is also blessed with a significantly younger population in their 20′s or 30′s, and most prefers to work for outsourcing firms due largely to the lure of prestige as well as the highly competitive and attractive salary and/or benefits.

  31. Jim Cockrum says

    March 20, 2012 at 7:28 pm

    1. If I understand your question correctly, my answer is this, ‘You don’t have to know how to do what you hire someone to do for you, but you do have to have a way to know if they are doing a good job or not. That is true for anyone you hire.’

    2. Absolutely. Having someone with good verbal English skills do your phone work is easily done, although I pay a local call center for my work because I find them very easy to work with and economical for my needs.

    3. Please consult an accountant, but in most cases you are paying the service provider (i.e. odesk.com) and that is a business expense…not an employee.

  32. Pickers University says

    November 19, 2014 at 6:59 am

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. For my business Pickers University, I’ve been spending far to much time on my blog trying to learn techie stuff that I hate. As a result my online sale have suffered as I’m not sourcing and listing as much and I’ve lost me free time for writing and family and keeping up with my house. I knew I needed help but wasn’t sure how to go about getting a VA and I’m kinda a control freak, wanting to do it all myself! I’ve been my worst enemy.
