The entire Internet is being “redone” for the small screen…it’s an EPIC shift.
It’s not just smart phones making a dent either. Did you know that 98% of all text messages get read? The marketing potential is HUGE!
I’ve just done a free 90 minute webinar training session with Dan Hollings. It was titled “Mobile Marketing Step by Step“. In this training Dan reveals at least three amazing “low hanging fruit” opportunities in the mobile marketing niche and about a dozen other great ideas you’ve probably never
considered. ANYONE can benefit from this information. Feel free to share this blog post with others that need it.
I’ve NEVER gotten the volume of immediate
GRATITUDE and THANK YOU’s as I did at the conclusion of this training! I was in a live chat with several of the hundreds of listeners that caught this training live, and the “thank you’s” were pouring in after about 40 minutes in. Toward the end it was literally a FLOOD of gratitude.

Your comment is encouraging Roumain, would you share a little more? I’ve not succeeded online yet but it’s always motivating to hear how it’s been working for other people. Thanks and congrats!
Hey Jim- Thanks again for the great content you really got my wheels turning. What’s the best way to collect money from a text subscriber who opts into a campaign? For example, if you wanted to charge to be on the list. Would it be to use 3rd party billing through the person’s mobile provider? Maybe PayPal Express Checkout Mobile? Any recommendations? Thanks!
I would not recommend charging a subscriber. But if you have something that indeed a subscriber would pay for, then Paypal Mobile or Amazon Flex Pay is best. This is covered in detail in the Step-By-Step program: Session #2.
Hi Dan, thanks for the valuable info. I have a quick question about the “college strategy” that got me confused. I get the part about first building the list then go to busineses and use my suscribers as a great selling point, potential customers right? Now, do I actually not need offers first to get people to optin? It feels like a dog chasing its tail LOL or maybe I just don’t get it, so I appreciate your help.
That is my question as well. What are you offering to get the initial 300 people to opt-in?
It’s great to tell a business I have a list of 400-500 people that you can send a text blast to, but how do I convince those people? What am I giving them to sign up?
No answer for us Mark T.!! I guess we will have to come up with our own firstoffer/freeby/incentive to build the initial list that will be presented to businesses! Let me know if you get an asnwer. have a good one
sorry – I don’t think Dan saw your response yet Mark – I’ll get him on it…thanks for the heads up Joestewie
Thanks Jim, Joestewie and I appreciate it.
Hey Jim, Great webinar. In watching the example campaign, I take it that you would charge the business a monthly PLUS a per text charge. Correct?
That’s a call you make based on how you want to charge. However, business owners generally prefer a fixed fee, so I’d just bundle the SMS fees into a “per blast” fee or “monthly” fee. A list of 300 would cost $20 to $30 per blast on average. Dan Hollings
Jim,
Just watched the webinar – it was great! Thanks. I will probably have to wait until next week but I’m definitely getting the system!
Excellent Webinar. Dan could you elaborate a little on the other 9 methods no great detail, just an appetizer.
I believe you are referring to the 10 topics I’ll cover in the Step By Step Mobile program. Thus far I’ve covered:
Mobile CouponsGoogle Places / MobileMicro Site Video CouponsGroupon-like StrategymCommerceAmazon Flexible Payments SystemPaypal Mobile Express CheckoutMobile Shopping CartMobile List BuildingQR Code Strategies
The future sessions might include:
Mobile Social Step By Step: Twitter & Facebook Strategies.
Kindle / iPad Step By Step
Kindle Kash & iPad Profits
Mobile Landing Pages
Mobile Affiliate Marketing
I say “might” because these are not yet set in stone.
Sounds great Jim. But I was wondering if these strategies can be used in other countries. Specifically in South America.
Raven
Yes. No ifs, ands, or buts… the whole world is mobile and mobile strategies work worldwide. Keep in mind that you’ll need to get mobile “tools” in your country (SMS etc) but the strategies are universal.
2 questions for Dan:
Hi Dan, awesome webinar!
I just watched your video for another program you have – Mobile Success Formula – which seems to be geared more toward mobile sites than text message marketing. Am I correct about that?
Also, which is more “low hanging fruit” and quicker to make money with – text message marketing or mobile websites?
I look forward to your reply….thanks!
Michelle
SMS text messaging is the low hanging fruit if you are working with a LIST (or list building) and want the lowest hanging fruit from your subscribers. However, if you are a consultant – it is relatively easy to make money offering your clients a Mobile site… so in that case, the low hanging fruit is site building (Mobile sites are very easy to build). If you join Step-By-Step Mobile, you get a discount off Mobile Success Formula inside the member area. The two programs are radically different – yet complimentary.

Hi Jim
Thanks for interducing this Webinar by Dan Hollings it is turely awesome. Packed with a great deal fo information. Certainly learned a lot.
Awesome content Jim and Dan! I do wonder how someone who works a full time day job can get this started while most contact with the business owners needs to take place during the daytime hours? Any input from those that have been able to do it would be helpful. Thanks!

Reputation management is another
is another avenue that seems to be low hanging fruit, you think you could do a post on this in the near future?
Fabulous content…
Dan- are you using short codes or long codes? And why? I’ve read various benefits to both and wanted to get your thoughts.
Thanks
Short codes are best if your campaigns require people to TYPE in (on their mobile device) to respond to your promotion – comparatively, long codes are just more cumbersome – too much typing – it’s a judgement call, based on what you think your customers will (or will not) do. Perhaps worthy of testing. On the other hand, long codes are international – that is, they work internationally and cost less. Short codes are typically based on a single country or region. In general, I’d use a short code for local campaigns and national campaigns (where the end user is required type). I’d use long codes on international campaigns and/or on any campaign where the enduser does not have to type, for example: if all your mobile optins are coming from online FORM completions… a short code has no advantage.
we are sending you an email now- congrats. That’s a great program!
