The story behind this book:

This book is STILL at the top of the charts for all Marketing books in the world thanks to your support!

The background on this book: The publisher is the “For Dummies” publisher – Wiley and Sons –  and they asked me in late 2012 to write a book about how to START or GROW a business (or spread and idea, a cause, an organization etc.) using free and virtually free marketing ideas centering on Internet based strategies.

After a year of hard work this book was the result.

What made me qualified to write this?

Jordan Malik says he reads the book to whoever will listen!

From the perspective of the publisher I’d achieved something that many others would like to accomplish. I’d grown multiple successful and creative online businesses…and had done it WITHOUT ever needing to invest a wad of cash. In the rare instances where I did spend any money it was either on inventory that would quickly sell for very nice profits, or it was nominal expenses like $5 for a video, or $30 to have a long audio transcribed into writing etc.

I’ve been a ravenous consumer of effective and “Free Marketing” concepts for over 25 years.

Seriously though – the book is CRAMMED with my best ideas and the first few dozen reviews are all RAVING.   It’s so stuffed with great ideas that they asked me to shorten it but I refused. Since they initially asked if I had 100 ideas to fill such a book and I agreed…I decided to deliver those 100+ ideas on MY terms.

The final product is the best ideas from my nearly decade of success online. It’s not a cover to cover type of book though. Whether you have five minutes or six hours to spend with this book I hope you’ll walk away inspired (that was my goal).

100% of the author proceeds from book sales go to “Hope Village” – a ministry that teaches financial independence to budding inner-city entrepreneurs.

I can sniff out winning ideas like a bomb sniffing dog on caffeine. It’s a gift and a curse, but I tried to capture that way of thinking and put it all into a single book.

In our first week using the ideas in Free Marketing, we posted some astounding numbers (for us, anyway). We set a record for monthly visits to our content site in only seven days and reached more than 6,000 people through social media and our email newsletter.

While we’re still ramping up, this quick start is proof enough that the techniques in Free Marketing really work. Here’s what we did last week:

1. Published daily posts at http://livingtodayforward.com
2. Shared posts via social media and used Facebook’s promote feature
3. Emailed our first weekly newsletter to our contacts thanks to a gmail export

In the next two months, we’ll keep doing with daily posts and weekly newsletter and post 16 videos to YouTube and Vimeo, publish two Kindle books, and introduce our re-designed web application. Based on the last week, I have no doubt that this combination will produce outstanding results as we move forward.

Jim, I bought your book from Amazon, did what you said to get a free autographed copy and was not given a free autographed copy which is no big deal but just wanted to let you know that the process did not measure up to what was promised…somewhere the automation is loosing you to your audience.  This must be impossible as you grow your fan club.  I do appreciate the content and would suggest you give purchasers access to your link sources and updates.  Thanks, Phil

    I bought 2 of your books last night, had to have my wife order them while I was at work & on the phone telling her how to order on amazon. She is not a computer person.
    Any way I got the 2 books for $14.97 ea, (Az’s price was $16.47 ea) , not complaining about the better price just wondered why this happened??

  14. Quite awhile back you had a blog I believe where you were giving step by step instructions on marketing. Does this book contain, basically, all of those steps? (you probably answered this somehwere else, but due to family illness I had fallen behind in keeping up with matters). I have been following you, on and off, for the past year or so and have come to the conviction I can trust what you say, based on your info as well as testimonials. I believe internet marketing is a way I (or anyone else) can become free to help myself, my family and my seriously ill sister. Your book appears to offer hope to those who need a solid roadmap of where they are going. I will be at a Bible study tonight and hope to return in time to order my two hardcover books tonight before midnight. May God bless your work!

  15. My copy arrived today and I have been looking through it.  As a SCORE Mentor in addition to my own interest in building a business I think what you have created is invaluable. I’d like to see if we can hook up some sort of connection to distribute this to the SCORE Chapters nationwide. How can we follow up on this?

     P.S. I bought my copy during your signed copy promotion.  It is not clear to me whether I will receive an additional signed copy or if the unsigned one from Amazon completes my order.

  21. Does anyone know of a stockist in the UK? If a physical shop only, then Glasgow Scotland? I ordered pre-launch on Amazon.co.uk and shared my joy via Facebook etc as i wanted to raise the profile of the book and the charity. However it is still not available…sigh. Cancelled then tried again with another stockist who said they had it, only to be told they did not have either!! Very frustrating. Really want to read the book…help anyone?

    Bought 2 books and sold the other one to a friend the day I got them!  🙂   Good thing since I don’t have any more toddlers that need booster seats!  LOL!

  25. What an awesome purchase – need to reread silent sales machine again and go back and read this again ! Its been two very worthwhile purchases for me as Ive had pieces of these ideas for a few years but been unable to action them due some crucial missing pieces – once I had read silent sales machine I was sure that this book was an essential purchase – look forward your next release gaining a place in my reference library !

  28. Jim, I love the book – got it on Audible and have listened to it twice in the last month. I’ve just got one question: I want to set up a personal domain name using my first name. Do you think it’s better to add a word to get the .com (eg ‘silentjim.com’) or use just my first name with an obscure TLD (eg ‘jim.tv’)?

I came across an online service called OunchKIT, that no only generate QR codes, but also the content after scanning the code. It could also be a good Squeeze page creator too.
